Characteristics:

Sodium silicate, commonly known as Sodium Silicate,is a water-soluble silicate whose aqueous solution is water glass.Its chemical formula is R,O-n SiO,where RO is an alkali metal oxide,and n is the ratio of the number of moles of silicato the alkali metal oxide,which is called the modulus of water glass.The commonly used water glass in architecture is anaqueous solution of sodium silicate (Na,O-n SiO).which is a colorless orthogonal biconical crystal or a white to off-whiteblock or powder,which can be weathered and loses 6 molecules of crystal water at 100C.Easily soluble in water,soluble indilute sodium hydroxide solution,insoluble in ethanol and acid,melting point 40~48'C Low toxicity,strong adhesion,highstrength,good acid resistance,heat resistance,poor alkali resistance and water resistance.


Mainly used as analytical reagents, fire retardants, adhesives, etc., such as:

. Paint the surface of the material to improve its resistance to weathering.
